The 2012 HYPE AWARDS [All Nigerian Youths Award], one of the hottest award shows to hit the scene is set to recognize, reward and celebrate outstanding Nigerian Youths in music, media, movies and the fashion industry.
HYPE AWARDDS is an initiative of the publisher of HYPE MAGAZINE.
HYPE MAGAZINE is an entertainment magazine currently published quarterly (to go monthly soon) and circulates in major cities and university campuses in Nigeria. HYPE strives to assist youth in realizing their potentials by helping them explore different career opportunities.
In this era where youths are prone to engaging themselves in various nefarious activities due to idleness, we think youths need to be re-oriented to desist from immoral acts and engage themselves in something that will contribute positively to their lives and the lives of people around them.
In making this sustainable, HYPE came up with the award ceremony tagged "HYPE AWARDS [ALL NIGERIAN YOUTHS AWARD]". HYPE engaged in instituting an award ceremony to recognize and appreciate youths with outstanding qualities both academically and socially.
The award which we believe will spur recipients to striving harder in the recognized fields and will serve as a reward for those qualities which attracted the prestigious award. We are of the opinion that the award will cause the well deserving efforts of the award winners to be emulated by others. HYPE AWARDS [All Nigerian Youths Award] includes the award ceremony and a youth job forum tagged 'H.Y.P.E.S - Help Youths Possess Extra Skills’. It is our intention to make this event not only the first of it kind but the best of its kind in Nigeria.
H.Y.P.E.S - Help Youths Possess Extra Skills: This will take the shape of a seminar/workshop, an interactive one for the participant and will last for a period of 5days (3hours daily) before the main award ceremony. There, participants will be able to learn about career opportunities outside the white collar field of study thus reducing unemployment.
H.Y.P.E.S is design to empower resident youths/students age between 18-28 by equipping them with the necessary technical and managerial skills needed for their integration into the work place as well as providing support towards self employment. As we know that youths comprise the bulk of the nation's population, this makes it mandatory to empower them. This we believe is going to be a kind of supports to both undergraduates as well as graduates that are unemployed.
